Parent Support

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Mapledown School was able to fully re-open in September 2020, following a period of partial closure from March to July 2020.

However, as the country continues to face COVID-19 cases, in the event that anyone at school should be diagnosed as COVID positive, the school may have to close a class or a bubble for up to 14 days at a time. When this happens, your child’s teacher will be in touch and will provide you with access to remote learning.

We aim to populate this Parent support page with links and phone numbers specifically to help parents cope through this difficult time.

We are pleased to announce the introduction of a hotline to support parents of autistic children/YP living in Barnet. The aim of this is to provide parents with an opportunity to discuss concerns around: behaviour support, emotional regulation, setting up schedules and routines in the home, supporting communication and support for home education or any other concerns with social communication, emotional regulation and education possibly by suggesting strategies and/or access to other services.

The phone number is 0208 359 3167. Phone calls can last a maximum of 20 minutes.
