Summer newsletter
Welcome to our summer Newsletter!
As we come to the end of the academic year, I reflect back on all of the achievements our learners have had during the year. A year that has been far from straightforward and for some of us extremely challenging, with some disruptions to learning. I am so proud of everything the whole of our school community has achieved. The staff have shown such dedication and commitment, and the learners such resilience, throughout the whole year in many different ways. Your commitment to working with us has enabled us to provide the best learning and educational opportunities as possible. A huge thank you has to go to the Mapledown staff team for their incredible dedication and commitment. As a Headteacher, I count it a privilege to lead such a strong team, working with and alongside them all; thank you.
Thank you, too, for being such a supportive group of parents. A special mention has to go to our year 7 parents, and families who were new to Barnet and our school, for trusting us and for working with us. Thank you for engaging in our parents’ workshops and coffee mornings, we are excited to share a new programme of activities in September. And most of all, thank you to our wonderful students, we are so proud of all of you!
Students and staff have had a wonderful term in school. As always they have worked hard, both within lessons but also throughout the school grounds, on the main site, @Whitefield and @Copthall. We held a number of events, such as Our Coronation party, our Enterprise Fair, Sports week with a special visit from Ali Jawad, British Paralympic Powerlifter, and a number of class trips, which our students thoroughly enjoyed.
