Graduation Day
At the end of every school year, Mapledown School invites parents and dignitaries to celebrate the achievement of our school leavers as they prepare for the next stage in their lives. Many of our pupils will continue their education at placements such as Barnet College and Oaklands College. We believe in being as supportive as possible throughout this transitional period and we have implemented Person Centred Planning Reviews to create a plan of action for each student.
All students leave Mapledown with a Communication Passport which incorporates essential information around student interests, means of communication, friends and family, medical needs and physiotherapy needs where appropriate.
In the event that a student leaves partway through their time at Mapledown, all efforts will be made to ensure transition to the new stetting, transfer of relevant information and where possible a Communication Passport drawn up.
