Our Key Stage 3 Curriculum is organised on a 3 year cycle and is based on the National Curriculum Programmes of Study. Our Schemes of Work reflect the National Curriculum Entitlement as we differentiate our teaching to support individual learning. Within Key Stage 3, pupils are organised according to need, including a group of learners with Profound and Multiple Disabilities and learners on the Autistic Spectrum.
The Post 14 Department is organised on a 5 year cycle and retains some of the breadth of the National Curriculum with a greater emphasis on Independence, Work Related Learning and transition to adult life, which includes Work Experience and working in Adult Education settings
Numeracy/Cognition, Literacy/Communication, ICT (Information and Communication Technology), PSHE (Personal Social and Health Education) and PE/Mobility are at the core of our Curriculum in both Departments.
Moreover, we are providing increasing opportunities to share curriculum experiences with mainstream pupils in order to enhance our pupils’ development possibilities.
