Mapledown School

Head's welcome

Welcome to our website. We hope you will find everything you need to know about us and find some useful links to other websites and organisations too.
Mapledown School is Barnet’s only secondary school for students with Severe and Profound Learning Disabilities (including Autism) and we have spaces for up to seventy nine students organised into eleven classes in three distinct ‘Learning Zones’. All students have an Education and Health Care Plan or are admitted on an assessment basis. We have developed strong partnerships with families and carers and will always place the needs of students at the heart of all we do.
There are three documents that sum up our schools values and aims.
Mission Statement
Student Manifesto
Code of Conduct
Our staff are creative and hardworking and the school holds numerous awards for excellence. Our last Ofsted inspection rated the school as 'good' overall.
I hope you can gain a sense of our work and achievements, looking through these WebPages - visitors to the school are always welcome.
Our school describes itself as a ‘learning organisation’. This means that we are constantly seeking ways to improve and grow and we also recognise that great ideas come from many, and often surprising, places. We are a team and together we can make a difference. Enjoy the site and let us know if you spot any gaps or mistakes.
